I realize that as I write this blog post we are almost to the end of Lent as tomorrow is Passion Sunday but I am still going to share this tip with you all in hopes that it will help you throughout the year and not just in Lent.
I have a real problem, as I am sure most mothers do of starting my day off on the right foot and then the day gets busy and before I know it I am completely consumed in my duties, work and responsibilities.
At the end of the day, when I sit and think and do my meditation, I recall that I rarely brought my mind back to Our Lord.
I would make excuses for myself — I would tell myself, "you just get so busy." or "you're doing your duty, God will understand". These are things I would tell myself to ease my conscience for going through a whole day and not once, offering even a small prayer or aspiration to Our Lord.
I brought this problem up to my priest. I told him that I read these beautiful, moving meditations in the morning and then by mid morning my day takes off and by the end of the day, I barely remembered our Lord at all.
And I mean, sure, there's always small prayers throughout the day like praying grace before and after meals but I honestly felt like I was just going through the motions.
So where does the tip come in — well, my priest instructed me to set alarms throughout the day to bring my mind back to Our Lord.
The great thing about this is if you have an iPhone, you can change the labels of the alarm to mention something you want to remember.
I have to say that for me, this really does work and has made a tremendous difference in my life — and not just my life but the lives of my family both immediate and extended.
When I am at my mother's and the alarm bells go off at noon (or as we are calling them the Angelus bells) everyone stops what they are doing and we all say the Angelus together.
This is a cherished piece of advice that I received from my priest and I thought I would love to pass it on to all of you! It may not work for everyone but it's worth a try, I think!
I would love to hear any tips that you would like to share! You can contact us here!

Many have asked for this Holy Hour that my mom complied, so we have provided a downloadable PDF of all the prayers.
